AirSense 10 FAQs

How does ClimateLineAir 10 Heated Tubing work?

ClimateLineAir 10 Heated Tubing links your AirSense 10 AutoSet machine and face mask so that air can flow directly into your nose and/or mouth without losing pressure. The tubing features embedded sensors to monitor temperature and humidity levels, making automatic adjustments as needed to prevent dry mouth and congestion.

If you have the AirSense 10 AutoSet, be sure to choose ClimateLineAir tubing that’s compatible with your machine — ClimateLineAir tubing intended for the AirSense 11 series won’t work with your device.

What is myAir Assistant?

The myAir virtual assistant guides you through the process of using the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet for the first time. Follow prompts on the control panel to install and operate the device, and to report compliance data. myAir also provides personalized data tracking and can be used to adjust the display.

How loud is the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet?

The ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet produces 26 decibels (dBA) of noise at maximum volume. This makes the device quieter than many competing machines.

Can I use the ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet on an airplane?

The ResMed AirSense 10 AutoSet is considered FAA-compliant, allowing you to use the machine mid-flight. We recommend bringing a note from your doctor when you travel, as some airlines require proof of prescription before you can use a PAP device on an airplane.

For long flights, you can speak to a gate or flight attendant about being seated near a power outlet, though many current planes feature outlets at every seat.

How do I change pressure on the Resmed AirSense 10?

Note: You should not adjust the pressure to any level that does not match your CPAP prescription. Talk to your doctor if you aren't happy with your current pressure settings.

To adjust the pressure of the ResMed AirSense 10, access the clinical menu on the device's screen by simultaneously pressing the home button and the button on the dial. If the device is in "AutoSet" mode, you can separately adjust your levels for inhalation and exhalation. If the device is in "CPAP" mode, you'll only need to adjust the machine's single, fixed pressure setting.

How do I clean the ResMed AirSense 10?

To clean your ResMed AirSense 10, follow these steps for disassembly and daily and weekly cleaning.

To disassemble your ResMed AirSense 10 Autoset for cleaning:

  1. Unplug the machine and wait 10 minutes for the humidifier's heater plate and water supply to cool down.
  2. Remove the humidifier and empty the remaining water.
  3. Disconnect the hose from the mask, then disassemble the mask to separate the cushion(s), headgear, and frame.

To clean your humidifier and mask cushion on a daily basis:

  1. Wipe down the humidifier tub with a disposable cloth, then place on a towel and allow it to dry away from direct sunlight. Once the interior of the tub is completely moisture-free, refill with distilled water.
  2. Gently wash the cushion(s) in warm water with mild dishwashing liquid. Rinse with warm, drinking-quality water, then place on a towel to dry out of direct sunlight.

For cleaning your machine and its equipment on a weekly basis:

  1. Soak the humidifier tub in warm water with mild dishwashing liquid. Alternatively, you can use a cleaning solution consisting of one part water and nine parts vinegar at room temperature.
  2. Gently wash the humidifier tub, connective hose, and mask frame with mild dishwashing liquid in warm water.
  3. Rinse each item thoroughly in warm, drinking-quality water.
  4. Dry all of these components on a towel out of direct sunlight.
  5. Wipe the exterior of the CPAP machine with a dry cloth.
  6. Reassemble the machine and equipment only when each component is completely dry.
How do I adjust the humidity on the ResMed AirSense 10?

To adjust humidity levels for the ResMed AirSense 10:

  1. Access the home screen on the machine and select "My Options."
  2. Select "Climate Ctrl."
  3. Change the setting from "Auto" (default) to "Manual."
  4. Select "Humidity Level" and adjust to your liking. You can choose a level of 1 to 8, with 4 as the default setting.
  5. If you use the ClimateLineAir heated tubing, select "Tube Temp" and adjust the temperature to your liking. You can choose a temperature of 60 to 86 degrees, with 81 degrees as the default setting.
How often should I change the filter on the ResMed AirSense 10?

You should change the filter on your ResMed AirSense 10 every six months. However, you may need to replace the filter more frequently if your bedroom is dusty or if your local climate is prone to high humidity levels. Check the filter regularly for dirt and damage.

Can you use the ResMed AirSense 10 without water?

Yes, you can use the ResMed AirSense 10 without water as long as the humidifier function is disabled in the device's "My Options" menu. You'll also need to insert a side cover into the machine. This prevents water from entering the chamber.

How do I turn off the humidifier on ResMed AirSense 10?

You can turn off the ResMed AirSense 10's humidifier in the "My Options" menu on the device's screen. A side cover is required to prevent water in the humidifier from entering the chamber.

    Sleep Comes Quickly

The mask is a snug fit but adjustable, and the water reservoir lasts at least two night, depending how many hours the machine is working. This thing does what it's supposed to do, keep one asleep in spite of apneatic episodes. Recommended.

    From Snore to Adore

My dad was a snorer... I am... WAS a snorer. After random years of waking with headaches and a lack of restorative sleep I contacted my doctor who suggested a sleep study. Now pause. DO NOT do this locally via a clinic, even with insurance the cost comparison is dramatic. On top of the dealings with insurance and local offices I missed out on a year of sleep due to pushed out schedules. Get your doctor involved and see if you are a cadet for a sleep study, do the study via Sleepdoctor.com and then get your prescription and equipment directly from them. Not only if it laughable how horrible the service industry is for medical supplies but it's borderline unethical at best, at worse it's a scam. My local supplier was charging my insurance nearly 20% of the complete cost of the unit I needed and then charging me an additional $35/mo on top. CRAZY. Plus - if your insurance is involved they will monitor you use - 4hrs a day minimum for 70% of the time. You miss that mark, no longer covered. To sway that, the medical supplier and some doctors will tell you to wear it whenever you are sitting - watching tv - relaxing... all to ensure the money flows. Be honest, get what you need and get it all at the SleepDoctor.com.

    Makes Such a Difference

Comes with everything you need to start improving your sleep experience. Expertly packaged, easy-to-use, and arrived quickly. I’m using nasal pillows and strongly suggest getting a chin strap. Who knew I was such a mouth-breather! The strap is essential to me.
