I wanted to like this, because the concept seems great. In reality, though, it did not work well. When I first molded the Zyppah to my teeth, the band didn't even touch my tongue, so when I laid on my back, my tongue fell straight back into my throat and I could easily force a "snore" (while awake). So it was clear it wasn't going to help when I was sleeping. I contacted customer service, and they told me how to remold it and adjust the band so it would hold my tongue down. That seemed more promising, but when I put the Zyppah in that night at bedtime, 2 things happened:
1. The Zyppah only loosely fit onto my teeth -- it came off pretty easily, with only small movements of my mouth/jaw. If it's going to come loose, it's not going to do its job.
2. Worse, with my tongue effectively restrained, I discovered I couldn't swallow the saliva building up in the back of my throat. I felt like I was drowning! After having to take the Zyppah out a few times just to be able to swallow, I gave up and just took it out altogether.
It's pretty clear this isn't going to be the solution for me. Which is too bad, because the concept makes logical sense -- the practical execution just didn't work.
