Halos are an integral part of the Eclipse CPAP system from Bleep. They’re an adhesive that’s designed to attach directly to the Eclipse frame, eliminating the need for a traditional CPAP mask. Each Halo has a hole that fits around your nostril, as well as a magnetized ring that connects to the Eclipse frame’s matching magnet.

The Halos are made from medical-grade adhesive that’s designed with sensitive skin in mind. Each Halo is single use, so a box of 32 adhesives will last about 16 nights.

Care

The Halo adhesives are disposable — just throw them away after a night of use. To clean the Eclipse, fill a bowl with lukewarm water and a mild soap that’s scent- and moisturizer-free. Place the frame in the bowl and agitate it in the water for 10 seconds, then leave it to soak for 10 minutes. Dry it flat on a clean towel.

How It Works

The system has two main components: the Eclipse frame and Halo adhesive. The adhesives have holes that fit over your nostrils to allow for maximum airflow. Around the holes, there are small magnetic rings. 

The Eclipse frame is a lightweight silicone mask that connects to your CPAP tubing. It has two separate magnetized ports that attach to the magnetic rings on the Halo adhesives. Together, the two pieces deliver pressurized air directly to your nostrils, eliminating the need for a nasal pillow or full-face mask.

How to Use It

  1. Clean your nose using witch hazel or isopropyl alcohol.
  2. Attach the Halos to your nose, aligning each adhesive’s hole with your nostril.
  3. Grasp the Eclipse frame with two hands and bring it toward your nose until you hear and feel the magnets connect to each other. 
  4. Connect to CPAP.
  5. Turn on your CPAP machine.
  6. To disconnect, slide the Eclipse frame away from your nose rather than pulling down.

Frequently asked questions

How do the Eclipse and Halos stay on my face?

The Eclipse frame uses MagSeal magnetic technology to connect securely to the stainless steel ring of the disposable Halos. These adhesives are designed to stay in place throughout the night and come off easily when you gently slide them off your nose. 

For best results, apply Halos to clean, oil-free skin. Use a mild astringent like Bleep’s DreamPreps or witch hazel. For very oily skin, isopropyl alcohol may be more effective. Avoid using soap or makeup remover, as they contain oils that can interfere with the seal.

I have skin sensitivity; can I use the Halos?

Yes, Halos use a gentle, surgical-grade adhesive that’s free of PBA, corn, and latex. While skin sensitivities are rare (around 2% of people), we recommend testing a small piece of tape on your arm before full use. 

If you're sensitive, try a skin prep barrier like Smith & Nephew SKIN-PREP or 3M Cavilon, both available over the counter. If you currently have a sore or irritation from a previous mask, it’s best to let it heal before using the Eclipse

I am a mouth breather; can I use Eclipse?

Yes, you can use Eclipse, but you'll need to use mouth tape or a chin strap to prevent air leakage and ensure effective therapy. It's also important to consult with your doctor about your pressure settings, as mouth breathing may require adjustments to your therapy plan.

Is Eclipse covered by insurance or Medicare?

Yes. You can verify your coverage by printing the CPAP prescription form for Eclipse.

Does the tape hurt to remove?

No. Halos are made from soft, surgical-grade tape designed for easy, pain-free removal. If you notice any leftover residue, simply wipe with a warm, soapy cloth.

How many times can I use the Halos/Eclipse? How long do components last?

The Eclipse frame should be cleaned and dried after each use and typically lasts up to 90 days. Halos are single-use adhesives — a box of 32 lasts about 16 nights.

Will Eclipse fit with my CPAP machine?

Yes. The Eclipse includes a 16-inch universal connector that fits all CPAP machines. If you're switching from a Philips/Respironics mask, be sure all original components (like the swivel) are removed. ResMed Mini users may need an adapter (widely available online).

Is the Eclipse FDA approved?

Yes. The Eclipse is FDA cleared under #K172335 and has HCPCS coding: A7034 for nasal masks and A7033 for nasal pillow cushions.

    A novel approach.

    I’m a sucker for all things magnetic, and I had to try the Bleep Eclipse magnetic nasal pillows, together with the Halos. The starter kit includes enough Halos for 32 nights. Each Halo looks like a flat washer embedded in a teardrop shaped piece of Hostage Tape. You tape a “washer” to each nostril, and magnets in the pillows snap the pillows securely into place. If you thrash around in your sleep, these are for you. The main drawback is the need to fuss with taping the Halos just right, so they don’t leak.

    For me, I think I will stay with F&P Solo Nasal Mask or Pillow.
