Nectar Luxe Hybrid Mattress Review: Cool and Wallet-Friendly

Nectar Luxe Hybrid Mattress: An Introduction
Delivering high-quality performance at a reasonable cost, Nectar Sleep has become one of the more recognizable mattress brands in the marketplace.
Sleepers can choose from a lineup of six Nectar mattresses, including three all-foam and three hybrid options. Both the all-foam and hybrid collections have a Classic, Premier, and Luxe model.
We take a closer look at the Luxe Hybrid, Nectar’s upgraded hybrid model, to help you decide if it’s a good choice for you.
How We Review
Our team of sleep product experts, who reflect a wide range of sleep positions and body types, test each of the mattresses we review. We then translate the results into mattress ratings that you can use to help you choose a mattress that best meets your individual needs.
What’s It Like to Sleep on the Nectar Luxe Hybrid?
The Nectar Luxe Hybrid has a classic mix of comfort and support that makes it a good fit for most sleepers. While the mattress’ feel is on the firmer side, the effect is tempered by a 3-inch layer of memory foam, giving side sleepers plenty of cushioning to prevent pressure points from forming. The Luxe Hybrid is particularly comfortable for back and stomach sleepers, who benefit from the firm (7) feel and pushback from the coil core.
Pros
- A good fit for most sleeper types
- Reduces pressure points and promotes alignment
- Maintains consistent support as sleepers move
Cons
- Cooling technology may not offset all body heat buildup
- May be too firm for sleepers who want deeper contouring
- Requires a fitted sheet designed for high-profile beds
Sleeping Positions, Body Weight, and Firmness
Ideal mattress firmness varies between individuals, but some general guidelines can help point shoppers in the right direction. Side sleepers and those under 130 pounds typically prefer softer mattresses, while people over 130 pounds as well as back and stomach sleepers usually opt for firmer mattresses.
Our team rated the Luxe Hybrid as 7 on our 10-point firmness scale. This firm rating is based on the experience of our testers that represent a range of sleep positions and body types.
Nectar Luxe Hybrid Sleeper Ratings
Side Sleepers
The Luxe Hybrid was comfortable but a bit firm for our side sleepers weighing less than 230 pounds, who preferred a softer sleep surface and deeper contouring. However, the mattress received excellent marks from our side sleepers weighing over 230 pounds. These testers appreciated the extra support and gently conforming comfort system.
Back Sleepers
Overall, our back-sleeping testers were very impressed with the Luxe Hybrid. It was particularly effective for testers weighing between 130 and 230 pounds. All of our back sleepers were impressed with the mattress’ exceptional support and the sturdy comfort system, which prevented them from sinking too deep into the mattress.
Stomach Sleepers
For stomach sleepers weighing less than 230 pounds, the Luxe Hybrid delivered above-average performance. Testing indicated it provided sufficient comfort to relieve pressure buildup and enough pushback to maintain alignment. However, stomach sleepers weighing more than 230 pounds gave the mattress average scores, as these sleepers wanted less hug from the Euro-top and more targeted support.
Our Performance Ratings
What Is the Nectar Luxe Hybrid Made Of?
The Luxe Hybrid begins with a cover infused with Microban antimicrobial protection, which is engineered to ward off bacteria. The cover is also infused with cooling fibers, which are designed to draw heat away from the sleeper.
Three inches of memory foam cushion sleepers, while two inches of polyfoam provide additional support and prevent sleepers from sinking too deeply into the surface.
The support core features individually wrapped 8-inch coils with reinforced edges composed of thicker springs to extend the sleepable area. An ActiveSupport polyfoam base layer creates a stable foundation.
The foams used in the Luxe Hybrid are all CertiPUR-US certified low in volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and free of harmful substances.
