How It Works

The SmartGuard Anti-Snore Device works by gently repositioning the lower jaw forward during sleep, which helps keep the airway open and reduces the vibrations that cause snoring. This positioning prevents the soft tissues at the back of the throat from collapsing and blocking airflow—a common cause of snoring and mild sleep apnea.

The device is custom-fitted using a simple boil-and-bite method, allowing for a comfortable, personalized fit that stays securely in place throughout the night.

How to Use It

  1. Mold the device to your mouth using the boil-and-bite method (instructions included).
  2. Wear the device each night before bed, adjusting the lower jaw positioning if needed using the built-in advancement feature.
  3. Each morning, rinse the device with cool water and store in the case provided.

Get all your questions answered

Do mouthguards help with snoring?

Yes, mouthguards can help reduce snoring. Mouthguards like the Somnofit-S are mandibular advancement devices (MADs), meaning they physically push the tongue and lower jaw forward to widen your airway. This decreases the vibrations that can cause snoring when the airway is narrower.

Are anti-snoring mouthguards safe?

Yes, anti-snoring mouthguards are safe and considered medical devices. That said, you should talk to your doctor before using an anti-snoring mouthguard for the first time. People with loose teeth, dental implants, gum disease, and other oral health issues may need to consider a different treatment for snoring.

Can a nightguard cause snoring?

Yes, in certain cases, a mouthguard can cause or increase snoring. This typically occurs when the device is not properly fitted for the user's mouth, or the mouthguard is not specifically designed for people with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). People who snore should use a custom-fitted anti-snoring mouthguard intended to treat snoring and other symptoms of OSA.

Will the SmartGuard Anti-Snore Device help with bruxism?

The SmartGuard Anti-Snore Device is not FDA cleared for the treatment of bruxism. If you experience teeth grinding or clenching, you may want to try the SmartGuard Dental Guard, which is specifically designed for that purpose.

Can I attempt the molding process more than once?

Yes, you can attempt the molding process up to three times to get the right fit. If you need to replace any (or all) of the parts because you didn’t get a good fit, the manufacturer will provide a free replacement.

How do I remove the advancement bars?

To remove the advancement bars, rotate the bar to a 90-degree angle from the bracket on the tray, then gently pull it outward. For easiest removal, start with the lower tray if the device is fully assembled.

How long will the SmartGuard Anti-Snore Device last?

With proper care, the SmartGuard Anti-Snore Device is designed to last approximately 12 to 18 months, similar to most over-the-counter oral devices.

    Smart guard

I purchased this for sleep apnea. It is working quite well as I wake up much more refreshed, no longer get sleepy in the afternoon and generally sleep through the night.

    A little different at first

A little different at first but I only have them in for an hour. I’m just trying them out now. Have not worn them all night yet. Maybe in a few weeks. My reason for buying them was to eliminate the need to haul my sleeping c-pap machine with me when I travel. So will figure this one out in a couple of weeks.

    Love this!

Total pain to mold and put it together, but COMPLETELY worth it! My snoring stopped the first night.

I previously purchased a different brand that was a universal fit. The plastic had already started to break down in about 2 weeks, and my snoring was increasing. Thankfully my dog chewed that one up so I could try this one.

Definitely worth it, and I won't buy anything else.

This has really worked for me!

Among other things, the Samsung Health app on my pone is able to monitor and record snoring throughout the night. Since using this device, I haven't tracked any snoring... and just as nice is the fact that my wife is no longer having to put up with it either.

The device is simple and effective. I'm really grateful.

    very clever design

the device can be moulded to your teeth, as advertised. very comfortable, and appears to be just as effective for my mild to moderate sleep apnea as my previous mouth device which cost several thousand dollars

    Worth it!

I previously used a prescribed custom anti-snore device for a couple of years until it broke and couldn’t be fixed. ‘Custom’ meaning it was personalized and made through a detailed computerized process… and between the device and dentist cost over $2000. This SmartGuard device has been just as successful in getting rid of my snoring. Proof being in SnoreLab scores showing barely any loud snoring while using the SmartGuard compared to scores while using another inexpensive device.
