The Nova Nasal Mask Headgear is a replacement part that integrates seamlessly with the rest of the Nova Nasal Mask. It’s designed for specific use with this mask and not compatible with others from Fisher & Paykel. The headgear has a unique system called SwingFit that’s designed to be easy to put on and take off.

It attaches to the mask’s frame with a plastic pivoting clip. Adjustments at the top and bottom of the straps let you fine-tune the headgear’s fit. It’s available in two sizes: small or medium-large.

Which masks is this headgear compatible with?

The Nova Nasal Mask Headgear is only compatible with its corresponding mask: the Nova Nasal Mask. It’s not compatible with any of Fisher & Paykel’s other CPAP masks, including the Nova Micro Nasal Pillow CPAP Mask. The headgear’s clip placement is designed to connect to the Nova Nasal’s frame assembly.

Does the Nova Nasal Mask Headgear include magnetic fasteners?

None of Fisher & Paykel’s CPAP masks or mask accessories have magnets, including the Nova Nasal Mask Headgear. Instead of magnets, the headgear uses a plastic pivoting clip that attaches securely to the mask’s frame.

How often should I replace the Nova Nasal Mask headgear?

Generally speaking, CPAP headgear should be replaced every 6 months to ensure that it continues to work correctly. Most insurance companies, including Medicare, cover replacements on this schedule. However, Fisher & Paykel states that you may only need to replace your headgear every 6 to 12 months.

How do I clean the Nova Nasal Mask headgear?

The Nova Nasal Mask headgear should get a thorough cleaning every week. Fill a tub or clean sink with lukewarm water and gentle soap. Soak the headgear up to 10 minutes, then use fresh water to wash away any remaining soap. Lay the headgear out to dry on a clean towel.

Cleaning CPAP machine components, including headgear, is important. Using dirty equipment can lead to bacteria and germs. But it’s recommended to avoid ultraviolet (UV) and ozone cleaners, as they pose health risks and may damage your CPAP equipment.
