The Fisher & Paykel Nova Micro Mask is a minimalist CPAP mask designed to promote comfort while taking up little space. Instead of full-sized nasal pillows, the Nova Micro Mask features soft MicroPillowsTM that are smaller and gently inflate to conform to the inside of the nose. The Nova Micro Mask is lightweight and makes minimal skin contact, which helps reduce the potential for irritation while receiving sleep apnea treatment.

Care

Hand-wash the cushion and frame daily using soap mixed with lukewarm water. Soak for no more than 10 minutes. Rinse in fresh water, making sure all soap is washed away. Let air dry away from direct sunlight.

What CPAP machines work with the Fisher & Paykel Nova Micro Mask?

The Fisher & Paykel Nova Micro Mask is compatible with CPAP machines that use tubing that fits a 22 mm connector. Most PAP therapy devices used to treat sleep apnea are compatible with 22 mm-sized connectors, so this mask should work with most machines. However, some PAP machines, especially travel devices, do not fit 22 mm connectors, so be sure to check the specifications of your machine before purchasing.

    First impressions of the F&P Nova Micro Pillows Mask versus the Resmed P10 Nasal Pillow Mask

    I purchased the F&P Nova Micro Pillows Mask to possibly replace the Resmed P10 Mask that I'd been using for over a year. For the most part I found the P10 to check all the boxes of a nasal mask but I was influenced by the SHQ ratings of the Nova Micro. This Nova Micro Pillows Mask had to be really good to be rated that much higher than the P10.

    So I pulled the trigger on the Nova Micro medium sized pillows.

    First impression right out of the box was that the Nova Micro pillows are firm, as in unyielding to my nose.

    After having used the P10 Mask for the past year I was spoiled with the softness of the P10 pillows themselves.

    As a side sleeper, any pressure on the side of any mask will translate to the pillows in my nose. The P10 has enough flexibility in the pillow not to apply pressure to my nasal septum when I switch sides. I can't say the same thing about the Nova Micro Pillows. During the night any movement of the hose would apply some lateral pressure to my nose, which I found annoying. So, it appears that I'll be staying with the Resmed P10s for the time being.
