BreatheUp Next Generation Nasal Strips are designed to gently open the nasal passages and make breathing through the nose feel easier during sleep, exercise, and everyday activities. Unlike traditional strips that primarily pull outward on the skin, BreatheUp uses a patented bridge design intended to lift the nasal cartilage and expand the nasal valve area.
The soft-flex strips are water-resistant, use a low-irritation adhesive, and are made to stay in place through movement and sweat. Each pack contains 30 strips designed for adults and children over age 5.
Key Benefits
Helps open nasal passages: Instead of relying only on outward tension across the nose like traditional nasal strips, BreatheUp’s bridge design is intended to lift the nasal cartilage and open the nasal valve area.
Gentle, water-resistant adhesive: These strips are designed to be comfortable on sensitive skin while resisting sweat and moisture during wear.
Comfortable for overnight wear: The soft-flex material conforms to the nose and is designed for extended wear while sleeping. They’re also suitable for exercise or other daily activities.

How It Works
BreatheUp nasal strips use a patented bridge-lift design that works differently from traditional nasal strips. Instead of primarily pulling outward on the skin along the sides of the nose, the strip gently lifts the nasal cartilage from the bridge area to help widen the nasal valve, one of the narrowest parts of the nasal airway. Increasing this space can reduce resistance to airflow and make breathing through the nose feel easier.
How to Use It
Make sure the sides of your nose and forehead are clean, dry, and free of lotion or oil.
Peel away the protective sections to expose the adhesive.
Position the lower adhesive sections on either side of your nose.
Gently pull the center section upward and attach the circular end to your forehead.
Leave the center bridge section raised. Do not stick the vertical portion directly onto the bridge of your nose, as this can prevent the strip’s lifting mechanism from working as intended.
After use, gently peel the strip away from the skin rather than pulling it off quickly, which may help reduce irritation.
Frequently asked questions
Are BreatheUp nasal strips reusable?
No. BreatheUp nasal strips are designed for single use. Once removed, the adhesive may not provide the same secure fit, so a new strip should be used each time.
Are BreatheUp nasal strips good for sensitive skin?
BreatheUp uses a low-irritation adhesive and is designed to put less tension on the skin than traditional nasal strips. However, people with adhesive sensitivities may still experience irritation and should stop using the strips if redness, itching, or discomfort develops.
Can BreatheUp nasal strips help with snoring?
They may help some people whose snoring is related to restricted nasal airflow. By opening the nasal valve and reducing resistance to airflow through the nose, nasal strips may make nasal breathing easier, but research has not consistently shown that external nasal strips significantly reduce snoring for everyone.
Can BreatheUp nasal strips treat sleep apnea?
No. Nasal strips are not a treatment for obstructive sleep apnea and should not replace CPAP or another treatment prescribed by a healthcare provider. They may improve nasal breathing for some people, but studies have not found meaningful improvements in measures such as apnea-hypopnea index when nasal dilators are used on their own.
Can BreatheUp nasal strips be used with CPAP?
Yes, BreatheUp nasal strips can generally be worn with CPAP. They may be especially useful for people who use a nasal or nasal pillow mask and want additional support for nasal breathing. However, make sure the strip doesn’t interfere with the mask seal or headgear, and stop using it if it causes leaks, pressure, or skin irritation.
Can children use BreatheUp nasal strips?
Yes. According to BreatheUp, the strips are intended for adults and children over 5 years old. Children age 5 and younger should not use them.
What’s the difference between the black, clear, and tan BreatheUp nasal strips?
All three versions use the same bridge-lift design, contain 30 strips, and are water-resistant. The main difference is color: clear is less visible on the skin, tan offers a neutral skin-tone option, and black is the Sport Edition. The black version also has stronger adhesion designed for exercise and other higher-activity uses.
