What’s It Like to Sleep on the Nectar Premier Mattress?

Our testers found that the Nectar Premier Mattress provides the signature cushioning effect of quality memory foam, with decent cooling for an all-foam mattress. Motion doesn’t tend to transfer to the other side of the bed, and if you’re a side sleeper you’ll likely find the mattress provides just the right amount of sink to keep your spine properly aligned. 

With a responsive polyfoam middle layer and a dense polyfoam support core, this mattress maintains a medium firm (6) feel and sturdy structure. It scored particularly well in motion isolation and pressure relief tests due to the soft, contouring memory foam comfort layer.

Side Sleepers

Our testers loved the Nectar Premier Mattress and thought it was one of the best mattresses for side sleepers. Sleeping on your side naturally puts pressure on the shoulders and hips. Nectar’s plush memory foam allows these areas to sink in comfortably, but it still provides enough firmness to keep the spine in good alignment. People under 130 pounds don’t sink in as much and may prefer a slightly softer choice.

Back Sleepers

The Nectar Premier performed well for our back sleepers, particularly those under 130 pounds. The mattress’ cushioning supports the lumbar region of the lower back, which is particularly important for this sleep position. Heavier back sleepers may find their lower back sinks too deeply into the memory foam layer, which isn’t ideal for spinal alignment.

Stomach Sleepers

Our stomach sleepers gave the Nectar Premier an average overall rating. People who sleep on their stomach tend to prefer a firmer mattress with plenty of support beneath their abdomen, so the foam comfort layer may be a bit too soft to suit this sleeping preference.

However, back sleepers over 130 pounds and stomach sleepers may prefer a firmer mattress that provides more support.

It has a cooling cover with heat-absorbing fibers as well as a comfort system that contains both gel-infused memory foam and phase change material. Our team of testers found that these elements provided good temperature regulation overall, although any all-foam mattress has the potential to become too warm during the night, particularly for heavier people who are more likely to sink deeper into the mattress.

While the Premier’s 3-inch memory foam layer provides contouring comfort, the two polyfoam layers below it offer a firm, sturdy structure. The materials are CertiPUR-US certified, which means that along with adhering to safety regulations, the mattress meets basic durability standards. The Premier is likely more durable than a softer foam mattress, but all foam mattresses are susceptible to wear and tear and may need to be replaced after six to seven years.

Ease of Movement

Our testing team found that it required a bit of effort to move around on the Nectar Premier. The same properties that allow a sleeper to sink into memory foam can be slightly restrictive to movement.
