GLP-1 medications and sleep apnea:
a co-therapy approach

Obstructive sleep apnea is often influenced by multiple factors, including anatomy, airway structure, age, and body weight. For eligible patients with OSA and a qualifying BMI, GLP-1 medications may help support weight loss, which can improve sleep apnea severity and overall health outcomes when used alongside appropriate OSA treatment.

Frequently asked questions

Is a home sleep test actually DOT-approved?

Yes. As of 2026, the FMCSA recognizes Home Sleep Apnea Tests (HSAT) as a valid diagnostic tool. Our tests are reviewed by Board-Certified Sleep Physicians and include the "Chain of Custody" data that medical examiners require to verify the results are yours.

Will I be forced to use a CPAP if I take this test?

Not necessarily. A sleep test is just a diagnostic tool. If your results are clear, you’re done. If you have a sleep issue, there are multiple DOT-approved paths to compliance—some of which don't even involve a CPAP, such as oral appliances for mild cases. The goal is to keep you legal, not to force a specific machine on you.

Is it okay that I’m doing this at the last minute?

Absolutely. We specialize in helping drivers who are down to the wire. Our process is built for speed: we ship your testing kit within 2 business days, and once you complete your one-night sleep study, you can have your certified results in as little as 5 days.

What happens if the test shows a problem?

The goal is compliance. If a condition is found, there are several ways to address it that keep you fully legal and driving. The key is having a documented plan that satisfies the DOT medical examiner so they can issue your long-term card.

Is this going to cost me a fortune?

A hospital sleep lab can cost upwards of $2,000 and take weeks to schedule. Our home test is a fraction of that cost and is FSA/HSA eligible.
